MY CHILD'S DAY OF BIRTH

To my bestest friend/child/sister/annoying brat:

Ok so I was going to write a funny, sarcastic—border line mean—post since that is what perfectly symbolizes our relationship but since it is your BIRTHDAY, I thought I would try to be nice instead. Also, I figured you (and your “friends”) might not get half of what I was saying, big words and all, so this might be better for all concerned parties.

All jokes aside, I want to take this moment on this special day to tell you how much I love you, how special you are, how much our relationship means to me, but most of all how proud I am of you every day. I know I always say I don’t remember you as a kid—um, because I don’t—but I can’t stop admiring the young lady you have become today. If there is one person in our family who embodies all the positive attributes of each individual, it would be you. It’s like God took all the good parts from us and made one Rida. Maybe that’s why Mommy Girl and Daddy didn’t have any more kids, since they finally got it right with you. (It’s just a theory, so don’t get too excited).

I also want to thank you for being our rock, my rock. I know we all ask a lot of you, especially for only being seventeen years old, but you are the one constant who supports us all, through it all. You give completely to those you love and care deeply without concern and trust me, those are very rare qualities to have. Your wit and sense of humor (and also your randomness) seriously make you one of the funniest people I know. Like I always say, no one can make me laugh as much and as often as you—mostly at stupid things, but still. And yes I know you are smart even though you say I “underestimate” you all the time. I don’t. Whatever.

So thank you for being the most amazing sister, confidant, partner-in-crime, driver (so I can text instead ), instigator, but most of all best friend. Here’s to more annoying the heck out of you, dancing in the kitchen and the car and Beyond Image, making stupid noises, hitting each other for no reason, squeezing your chipmunk cheeks, trying to pants you at all times, singing stupidly in the car in very high pitched voices, stalking and creeping, hugging for hours, beach days and hookah nights, midnight premieres of vampire movies, and an awkward love that no one will ever understand. Here’s to you my little sister, Happy Birthday!

Love,
HB

The two of you can rock this world and I'm sure entertain the rest of us on the way, even God :) Happy Birthday my dear! I hope all of your dreams come true, and you get the best in life always!
